PARISH ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Fr. Podhajsky would like to thank all who helped in any way to make this year’s Ice Cream Social such a success,
either by helping at the social or donating one of the delicious pies or cakes. We at I.C. especially want to thank
John and Connie Fosdick for their organization and planning of the social, Barb Klawiter and crew for our
Maid-rite Style Sand-wiches, and Walter Huk for donating 25 lbs of Hamburger.

in salvation history.

Location: Immaculate Conception Church — Scotus Hall

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

26.TOO---YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In recent years I have used my running in an attempt to raise both awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and its fight against cancer. My hope is to inspire many people to join in this fight; to be a vehicle to help others help me make a difference. The video of April 2009’s run can still be seen at:   http://www.kcrg.com/younews/43365502.html
This is the 26th year of Relay for Life and a marathon is 26.2 miles…to tie that together I will run a marathon at each of the Relays listed below with the marketing idea: you don’t have to be able to run 26 miles…. there is another way you can help make a big difference…
“You don’t have to run 26.2  to 26.too

Theology on Tap

The Cedar Rapids area Theology on Tap Committee is pleased to announce a new Lenten Series, meeting every Thursday in March at the Chrome Horse Saloon. All young adults ages 21-39 are invited to gather for faith discussions, fellowship, and your favorite beverages at the Chrome Horse Saloon, beginning at 7:00 PM.

March 4 - Why Can't Catholics cut out the Middle-man? Sin and Reconciliation. If forgiveness comes from God, why should I tell my sins to a priest? And if I can be forgiven any time, why shouldn't I wait to be forgiven later?
For Catholics, Lent is a season to reflect a little bit extra on our sins, so we'll talk about what it means to sin and how we can use confession to repair our relationship with God. Fr. Nick March will present on this topic.

March 11: Angels and Demons - and we don't mean with Tom Hanks

March 18: The Bible, the Wall-Street Journal, and Hansel and Gretel: Where is the Truth?,
